Today we will show you a little glimpse of the beautiful town of Conflans. Just a 15 min train ride from Pontoise (train for St Lazare Gare) it is situated on the Seine river and has a lovely old town, parks, historic monuments and views over the Val d'Oise.

Pontoise - The site of the former castle
A climb up the hill to the site of the former castle will certainly be rewarded. Although the castle has been demolished quite a while back, there are a few attractions up here that make the hike worthwhile.
For all those into the arts, the charming Musée Pissaro opens its doors in the afternoons; from the surrounding park you get excellent views of the Oise valley and the town of Pontoise and the garden of the five senses is the ideal place for a little break from sightseeing.

The Historic Centre of Pontoise
There is a lot of history in Pontoise but even if you do not care too much about museums and the olden days, a walk through its lovely streets is definitely worthwhile.
The small houses and alleys make for the setting of a nice walk and there are some cute shops, brasseries and restaurants to be discovered.

Pontoise - The River Oise
The town of Pontoise is situated on the shores of the river Oise just a short distance from its estuary with the Seine River by the town of Conflans.
From its source in Belgium the Oise passes through beautiful landscapes with small towns and even a few castles. In the Val d’Oise it is mainly a source of recreation, you can take the bike along the River for example and enjoy a day outdoor.
